To draw places on your map, go to the Places tool and click to open up the map. Then click on the paintbrush icon in the upper left hand corner to open up the drawing tool:
Click "+" to select the type of place you want to draw on your map:
Select the place type you'll be mapping by clicking on the + icon. Place types include building, field, growing enclosure, landmark, and property:
Once you've selected the type of place you'd like to draw, draw it by clicking around the perimeter the place that would would like to add to your map:
If you make a drawing mistake, click Delete Last to delete just the last point you've drawn. You can repeatedly select this option to delete one point at a time. If you want to start over drawing the same place, click Start Over.
Once you’ve drawn your place, click Save to save it to your map. Once a place is saved, you can click on that place to see its basic details, including its calculated area.
Once a place is saved to your map, you can click on that place while in panning mode to see its basic details, including its calculated area:
- To exit the drawing tool and return to panning mode, click on the Hand icon
- You can go back and edit the shape of a place or remove it from the map entirely at any time.
